5 Of the Best Workouts to Add to Your Workout Regimen

March 21, 2018 Corey

If you’re currently on the lookout for high-intensity workouts to add to your current workout regimen, continue reading to discover 5 of the best workouts to add to your workout regimen this year.

5 Of the Best Workouts to Add to Your Workout Regimen:

1. High-intensity training

High-intensity training has skyrocketed in popularity in recent years as it is designed to increase your heart rate so that your body burns as many calories as possible, within a short period of time. If you’re interested in experimenting with high-intensity training, your best option is to download a HIT app, which will guide you through a series of simple home-based exercises, which are designed to burn calories, increase your current level of fitness and tone your core.

So if you often find it difficult to drag yourself to your local gym and often find yourself short on free time to work out, it’s well worth trying out high-intensity training, which can take as little as 7 short minutes per day.

2. Pilates

While Pilates isn’t classed as a cardiovascular exercise, it’s still well worth adding to a balanced workout regimen as Pilates helps you develop your core muscles and can also help you increase your range of flexibility. As an added bonus Pilates is known to help individuals sculpt a long, lean dancer’s body. So if you’re looking for a body resistance workout to add to your workout schedule, it’s well worth practicing Pilates 2-3 times per week, in order to obtain optimal results!

3. Swimming

Why is swimming an excellent cardiovascular workout? Swimming burns around 400-600 calories per hour and is suitable for individuals who have a limited range of flexibility or have sustained a leg-related injury and may not be able to run for a couple of weeks or months. As a bonus, most individuals find swimming a lot more enjoyable than working out at a gym or running around their neighborhood.

4. Kickboxing

If you’re not afraid of getting physical and working up a sweat, you may want to consider taking up kickboxing as your latest hobby. As a one-hour kickboxing session should burn between 600-900 calories per hour, which means that not only is kickboxing a vigorous, full body workout but kickboxing also burns more calories than running, jumping rope, cycling and swimming.

If you’re keen on learning how to kickbox, you may want to attend an introductory class at your local gym or kickboxing club.

5. Spin class

There’s certainly a reason why it’s become trendy to attend spin studios! One of the reasons why spin classes are so popular is that you can easily burn between 400-600 calories in a single one-hour spin class. As an added bonus, if you love upbeat music, you’ll love being able to spin to a variety of catchy beats, whilst you work out. Better yet, you can even attend spin classes with a group of your friends!

If you’re determined to increase your level of fitness and your energy levels, it’s well worth adding all five of the high-intensity workouts listed above to your fitness regimen!
