Anaya is a girl who I went to school with and from as early as I have known her, she has wanted to have her own beauty salon. At the end of 2016, this is exactly what she did and Anaya’s was opened with dreams of one day reaching dizzying heights like the clinic which I use here in Denver, Sono Bello. As you can imagine, there is heavy competition in this sector, especially on the high street, so Anaya knew that she would have to amp up her marketing skills if she wanted to grab a piece of the market share. Anaya’s success in the first year has been absolutely incredible and I wanted to share with you just how she has gone about doing it.
Promotional Marketing
Anaya’s first thoughts were that she needed to get more people through the door in order to show off just what she could do. To get those people through the door in the first place, Anaya invested some more into promotional marketing by way of coupon sites. The way this worked was that she placed around 50 coupons on the site, which gave people a heavy discount off a beauty treatment with her. All of the coupons got snapped up and Anaya soon had a busy few weeks. To see whether or not the promotion had worked however, Anaya had to wait a little longer, to see if the customers would return and pay full price, thankfully they did.
High Standards
Anaya quickly noted that gaining a solid customer base was about more than marketing gimmicks or strategies, but also about providing a certain level of excellence. Anaya has done this since the moment that she opened the shop, she meticulously checks every part of the service which the shop gives, and ensures that standards in all aspects of the business are as high as they possibly can be.
Online Presence
Another attribute to Anaya’s success was her foresight in creating a strong online profile for her business. Even brick and mortar shops rely on reviews and comments made online, especially if it is a favorable or helpful review. Don’t think that this is all however, increasing the success of a business is about more than just opening up online, it is also about understanding how to use the internet to gain more custom, something which Anaya does very well indeed. My friend’s beauty shop now has many social media pages with a good following, as well as a sleek and well designed website which details all of the services offered, testimonials and staff profiles. Anaya really prides herself on the savvy way that she uses the internet for her business, and it has brought her huge success already, give that this is only her 2nd year.
