Interior Design Tips For Summer

May 9, 2018 Corey

As the summer month’s creep in, a lot of people set out to redecorate their homes with new interiors and furniture to match the weather outside. For many, it is a chance to bring the outside in and make sure to create a great space for entertaining guests, such as barbecues, and chilling out on those warm, humid days.

Irish home insurance comparison site, Chill Insurance, surveyed 1,000 Irish homeowners to discover their ideal Irish home and where it would be. Out of those surveyed, 28% of respondents said there ideal home interiors would be a traditional style, which goes well with the summer trends.

33% of people said they would spend around 20% of their annual income on doing up the interior design of their home, so we’re taking a look at the top trends for summer and how to achieve the perfect look.

Pastel Colours

Summer is perfect for pastel colours in the home, tones like blush pink are great if you’re keen to give your homely space a hint of subtle colour. Pastel shades work well together so match it up with subtle shades of blue, mint greens and yellow for an effective, yet easy, look.

House Plants

House plants are great all year round, but especially in summer, bringing the outdoor space in with tones of green throughout the home can really make the space stand out from the crowd. If you don’t have a garden, this is also a great opportunity to have your own personal slice of nature to enjoy, regardless of whether you pick large leafy plants, or small terrarium.

Introduce some Marble Texture

Marble prints are something that has been popular for a while now, but summer is a great time to introduce it to your home. With its pale base and swirling veins throughout, marble is most effective if it’s used sparingly so adding the effect into the home with things like pillows, bedding and wall prints really adds effect.
